slow progress ...

Thought I'd better take a picture of what my large tapestry looked like last night ...

I'm really pleased with it so far!

I'm only slightly panicking about the fact that it's due at the beginning of November, and I have no idea how I'm going to get it finished amongst all my other homework (oh, and the fact that I work full time!). The highest point of the tapestry so far is 30cm (11.8 inches) - the total width will be 72cm (28.3"), the width is 50cm (19.6") - I'm not even halfway yet!

I'm working at around 10 epi - my lecturer suggested I should work at a larger warp sett due to the time factor ... she's right of course, but I'm more comfortable weaving at a finer warp sett. Glutton for punishment! O_o

I'm pretty pleased with my technique in this one - it's not perfect of course, and my edges aren't completely straight ... but I can see I'm getting better all the time, and that's the main thing! ;)

I'll do another update on Monday, since I envisage getting a lot done on the weekend.

  2. It looks amazing so far! I so hope that you will have the time to finish it and all your other assignments and I hope that you still feel the joy in tapestry, eventhough you have a pressure on yourself right now.

  3. dear weird one (you said it),
i immensely enjoyed your one lovely blog award responses - and I am amazed at their size and progress on the current weave - the weather map doesn't show rain for adelaide so don't punish yourself with too may hours weaving this weekend!!
