'retro stitch' @ carclew youth arts centre - the aftermath

I survived!!!

Here was my half of the ballroom all set up and ready for my first class:

Let's just say it got messier and messier as the day went on, ha!

I think it all went really well - the kids were great and my assistant Jodie was amazing (she's a Graphic Designer, so had some fantastic ideas that really helped to engage the kids).  I was so exhausted by the end of the day - luckily Anita had pain killers on hand at the end for my headache :P.

That night I attended an unofficial Yelp event at Steven ter Horst Chocolatier - oh my, chocolate comas for everyone!!  Highlight was definitely the salted caramel chocolate tart, paired with my choice of chocolate ... salted caramel, of course!  Hey, I like to be consistent ;)  If you're in Adelaide, make sure you visit his shop/cafe/dessert bar on Unley Road.

I have an (enforced) annual leave day Friday, so will be spending time looking at my next tapestry homework assignment and finishing off a couple of infinity scarves.  More about those later (when I've taken decent pictures!).

Oh, and Bella from Bellatextiles has asked if I could join her giving weaving demonstrations at the next Bowerbird Bazaar on Sunday May 5 - it's all go around here!!

  1. It's a little late, and it's more about building than it is about stitchery, but this article has some good tips for people who make things with kids...
